We would like to extend a very warm welcome to our new Year 7 students and their parents/carers.
Starting high school can feel a bit daunting at first but it is also very exciting and great fun. You will be part of a warm and friendly school community offering all the support you need to help you feel at home and to achieve your personal best in school. Although Claydon High School may be a lot bigger than your primary school, rest assured that everyone will be happy to help you settle in, find your way around and make lots of new friends.
We have been successful in our application for a Silver School Games Award. The School Games Mark (which is recognised by Ofsted) rewards schools for their commitment to and development of competition, school sport and physical education.
In order to achieve any level of the School Games Mark, we must meet a set of prerequisites including: providing opportunities that attract less active young people to participate in physical activity; a calendar of competition that demonstrates opportunities for young people with SEND to take part in competitions; a notice board and/or in-house school digital system that promotes School Games activity and much more.

On 1st June 2017, Claydon High school, East Bergholt High School and Hadleigh High School joined together to form a multi-academy trust - The South Suffolk Learning Trust. The three strong schools will be working together to share best practice within the partnership as well as supporting other schools in Suffolk. The South Suffolk Learning Trust (led by an experienced board of local trustees) intends to grow and support the learning of Suffolk youngsters aged between 3 and 19 and add positively to improving life chances of Suffolk children through effective collaboration.
Headteachers Sarah Skinner, Colin Turner and Caroline Gibson are delighted to be formalising partnerships across schools and enabling an even wider number of children to reach their full potential.
