Admissions

The local governing body of Claydon High School is the admissions authority for the school, now that it has academy status.  This means that it is the governing body, or its admissions sub-committee, that will set and apply the admission criteria for the school.

Claydon High School has adopted the admissions policy for Suffolk County Council for 2018‑19 and 2019-20.  This information can be found by following the link www.suffolk.gov.uk/admissions.

Year 7 Admissions

The school participates in the Local Authority Co-ordinated Scheme.  All applications for September 2019 should be made to Suffolk County Council, as outlined in the “Admissions to Schools in Suffolk” booklet 2019-20 (when it is available).  The school’s published admission number is 149.

Advice and guidance form Suffolk Local Authority is available at www.suffolk.gov.uk/admissions.

Headteacher's Weekly Update

This year has been very busy and all students have had a wealth of opportunities and events to participate in. This week we have celebrated all of that with our final assemblies of the year. Our Awards assemblies celebrated the achievements of over 250 students who have 100% attendance, a perfect plus point profile, exemplary attitude to learning scores on their reports during the year or have achieved a full set of Headteacher’s awards for their reports. The termly praise assemblies, led by Heads of Year, celebrate wider achievements for the term including the tutor group competition for plus points!

MADAGASCAR — Congratulations!

Huge congratulations to all the cast and crew who took part in our production of Madagascar. The show couldn't run without our very talented students but also our backstage crew and those people who gave up valuable time to support with refreshments, front of house, sound and lighting, costumes, hair and make-up, props, scenery etc... It was great to see all your hard work and weeks of rehearsals culminating in stunning performances across two nights. The singing, dancing, acting and comedy moments were superb! Sincere thanks also to parents/carers for their support and to those who came to watch the show, we hope you enjoyed it.

Claydon Bake Off

Well done to all those students and staff who entered the 'Claydon Bake Off'. We had some truly amazing cakes that would have competed with the professionals and it was very difficult to judge!

Congratulations to our overall winners, Jasmine S in the 'Showstoppers' category, who made the large chocolate/cherry cupcake and Ella in the 'Small Bakes' with her mini carrot cakes. Well done to runners-up: Bethany and Erin, Lottie, Lucy and Jasmine C. We must also mention Mrs Lovell-Brown, winner of the staff category.

Lastly - a big thank you to Ellie T who worked very hard to organise the event, ably assisted by Faith, Alex and Joseph.

Slices of cake were sold to students at lunchtime and the money raised will go towards the charity 'FIND' which supports families in need.
